What an exciting way to end the season. The field wasn't great but both teams had to play on it. Our boys were hungry to finish the year on a winning note and did they ever. They took it to Cedar Grove from the get go. The O-line (whom we chose as player of the game as a unit) opened up holes all over the place for all of our running backs to get thru. Every RB was able to get yards today and we were able to get 3-4 different RB's TD's today. WE also didn't even attempt a single pass. I am so happy for these boys that they were able to head to 8th grade with a couple of wins under their belts this year and leave on a winning note.
I need to thank each and every parent or sibling that brought their boys to practice and to games, a feat that I know is very demanding but appreciated and I know the boys thank you also, even if they don't say it.
Don't forget equipment return is mon - tue- the 9th & 10th and the banquet is wed. the 11th. I hope to see every player there.
I hope everyone including the families had fun and enoyed the season. On behalf of myself and my coaching staff we wish each of you a very happy offseason and encourage everyone to come back next year. And if you see our happy faces, please say hello.
See ya at the banquet.

Here we go again, I am not a computer guy so I forget to update this alot, sorry.
Well the past 2 games have not gone our way. We fought tough all game both weeks, we just were out of place on a few plays defensively this week and didn't get the offense consistant again. I really want these boys to succeed they have worked so hard for us this year and I wish the results were there to show it, but we will fight hard this last game and end on a high note.
I really hope the boys enjoyed this season, I know myself and the rest of the coaches have loved coaching this group. They really were a good group of kids and we will miss them next year. I encourage all of these boys to continue on in football for years to come, don't let losing deter you guys. Don't let playing time at this level fool you, alot of these boys haven't grown into men or the bodies they will have and that can change everything for all of them. The position they are playing now may be the last time they get to play that position so stay positive and love football, 'cuz no one knows what your future holds.
Be sure to check out the "Be an 11" seminar that coach Noennig is presenting. It is a great opportunity to teach the kids how to be a great leader and role model as an athlete. You can find a link to the info on our homepage.
This saturday we travel to cedar grove - belgium. Any questions on directions just e-mail or call or ask me after practice. A guy I work with lives there and I got directions from him today.
Thursday we will be practicing at the town hall, not woodlawn, I will let the kids know tonight. The coaches and I are suprising them with a pizza party in lew of practice, they deserve it for a job well done this year.
That's about it for now see ya tonite.

stay warm
Just a reminder to dress warm, but not too much heavy clothes. With the rain and the dampness the sweatshirts and thick material will hold the cold longer and chill the boys worse, so more layers is better.
Tommorrow night is the varsity homecoming game, I hope to see as many boys as possible there. I have told the boys a few times how proud my coaching staff is of them, regarding their behavior at the varsity games, I feel it is a true testament to their trust in their team, teammates and coaches. Keep up the good work guys.
Anyone that goes to the game should wear their black jersey's. They should also wear them to school during the day.

Hello again
I apologize for the delay in blogging. Well we did it finally, a big win. We stuck to our game plan offensively and pushed them around like we knew we could. Defensively we changed a lot of our scheme and used a 5-3/5-4 and some 6-2 and we really shut them down with the exception of 2 plays, but that can be corrected and will be.
Our player of the game last week was Joe Kahnke, I hate to even think back to that game but maybe it took playing like that for the boys to see we neded to do everything better and they responded. Joe was our leading rusher in that game with 9yds, I was impressed because Joe doesn't get his number called a lot but when it is he's eager and last week we used his size to run him up the middle on some qb sneaks and he got us good yardage in fact some of the only positive yardage all day, a day in which we gained -22 yds (yes negative yds for the day)
So congrat's Joe.
This weeks player of the game was a tough call. Mitch Datka was playing thru a turf toe injury he sustained last week and after not being able to practice all week he ran hard when his # was called and even got his 1st ever TD, also Mark Hermann played as hard as I've seen a lineman at this age play on offense he let us run up the middle a bunch today so I wanted to congradulate him as well, I can't forget John Higgins either he played both ways today and made some outsanding tackles and rushed the ball hard all day long I don't have #'s this week but I'd venture to guess @ 90 yds excellent job Higg's, but our player of the game this week went to Ryan Komp. An outstanding job offensively blocking on the right side for Higg's and defensively he was in their backfield all day long. Good job.
We will probably end practice's by @ 6:30 now since it dark even earlier. If you can be there by 4:30 we will try and start a little early also, if not we'll play that by ear and start at 4:45 at the latest.
We are home again this saturday against WB west so fire up the boys and let's get another win.
See ya ansd again congratulations to all my boys good game, job well done. WE CAN - WE WILL.

Week 3
Well another week in the books, unfortunately another loss. The boys played hard for all 4 quarters again so we are proud of them for keeping their heads up and showing the intensity it takes for 4 quarters. Now we will work on turning that into W's.
This weeks player of the game was Mitch Datka. The coaching staff took note on how well Mitch opened holes for Higgs and the few times he carried the ball he had big runs 13 yds and 11 yds. He also was all over the field playing as hard as everyone on D. So congrat's Mitch.
This week we are implementing a little bit different defensive look, we are trying a 5-2,5-4,6-2 to try and bottle up the run and keep contain against outside runs. This requires moving some players around and I think the boys are happy to try and shore up the D. Offensively we just need to make sure we are concentrating and keeping our assignments on every down. We seen how well we can move the ball at times and now just need to sustain it.
We will be starting practices @ 4:45 now due to darkness, on thursday 10-1, so have the boys there by 4:30 if possible.
This week we play Slinger Blue @ slinger H.S. They are 3-0 so like I've said all year there are no cake walks on our schedule, we will be prepared, we can and we will.
See ya thursday

week 2
Well 1st off last weeks player of the week is Mitch Berti. Mitch scored our only Td after a great catch and run so I chose him as our 1st player of the week.
This weeks player of the week is John Higgins. Higg's had 2 long TD runs, unfortunately one was called back on a penalty, but all game long Higg's ran hard eventho' there wasn't as much room as we'd like him to have.
So congrat's to those guys.
I am still trying to get over saturday's loss, I have 2 more hours to do so, then it's on to this week. The coaching staff is trying furiosly to find a way. We will make a few changes to our scheme to take advantage of our strenghts and reduce our weekness'.
We will have a tough week of practice, so anyone reading this prepare your boys. The time has come to tighten the reigns and make them understand that winning isn't everything but losing sucks and the only way to get that bad taste of a loss out of your mouth is to work harder and get better and that's what we'll do.
I need 2 boys to be water boys for the varsity @ home this week and 1 boy to toss a T-shirt.
Our next game is our home opener so I hope we are ready to make some noise, we have an autographed football raffle as well as T-shirt toss' @ halftime of all 4 games, plus the Varsity will have some boys there for everyone to meet, and to cheer us on and help out as well. So I encourage you to invite everyone you know to come watch the kids play.
Well back to game planning for Oshkosh, see ya tonight.

Game 1
Well the result wasn't what we were looking for. However we did do some things well, as a coaching staff we were pleased with our ability to move the football down the field, now we just need to hang on to it. As we told the boys the things that cost us the game were mental and can be fixed, also we played I believe every bit as well as Hartland except for the turnovers and a few missed tackles.
We will be working hard this week, a little extra running so we don't get tired out as quick, the weather will help with that also.
I also need water boys for friday's varsity game at oconomowoc.
Stay tuned to see who we as a staff select as player of the game.

Game Week
Hello again everybody;
Game week is upon us. Just a few things to let you know. We will finalize the 1st week's starting lineup on Offense after tuesday and Defense after wednesday. We pretty much have our starting special teams figured out, and we have a 3 deep depth chart for each position on the specials units. We will also have a 3 - 5 deep depth chart for all positions after this weeks practices. I have told the boys from day one that the harder they work, and practice, the further up the depth chart they have a chance of going, this means they have to work harder and crisper than the guys in front of them, hopefully we some boys take advantage of the opportunity.
This week we will be practicing tue-wed-and-thursday.
Our 1st game is @hartland in case anyone misses the time be there ready to take the lap @ 9:15 a.m. We wear white road jersey's.
Feel the excitement, Love the excitement, Live for the excitement
We can, We will.

updates
Well the season is getting closer, I hope all of you are as excited as I am. We are getting better each practice, we have installed a few new running plays and the pocket passing game is looking good. We are working on Blitz packages on defense this week.
Don't forget we are off sat and mon, we will practice next week tue-wed-thur. While we are off it would be very beneficial to have the boys stay running in some way shape or form. Conditioning now is needed.
We are always looking for someone to video our next opponent anyone interested should contact myself or one of the coaches for more info.
Today (Sept 1st) is picture day wear black jerseys.
I hope everyone enjoyed fridays game the boys looked good and had a blast getting on the home varsity field even if it was only a walk thru. Look for more fun to come.
I do need 2 boys to be water boys next week Sept 11th. let em know if you can.
Well for now I think that's it. \

weekly update
Well the week went weel considering we practiced at town hall all week. It was productive all the way around. Our offense is starting to really look good and our defense is catching on.
The scrimmage saturday was a great gauge of where we are at. The coaches and I were really pleased with our offense against Nicolet and Grafton and We think the boys were just a little gassed by the Brown Deer scrimmage. We have some things to clean up yet and work to do but we are ready for that challenge. I hope all the boys that were nicked up are o.k. I hope all the boys that were knicked up are o.k. I will check with them 1st thing monday at practice. We also hope the boys had some fun in their 1st action of the year.
This is a busy week for all of us. We have practice monday, tuesday, thursday, & saturday back at the H.S. practice fields. Also wednesday is another scrimmage at Germantown be there by 4:30. And friday is youth night at the varsirty game, I would really like to see 100% attendance by our team, we get to go on the field and be introduced. I also will select 2 boys from our team in a random drawing to be water boys for this game. I wll do this monday so you can make plans. We also get to toss T-shirts to the crowd, so I think this could be a fun time for all. Hope to see all of you there.
Well I will update you thursday after wed. scrimmage.
Till then see ya.

oooops!!!!!!!!!!
Well I apologize again for the miscommunication yesterday regarding the scrimmage. But we were able to have a very productve intersquad scrimmage ourselves. The coaches and myself are pleased with our progress, our running game is coming along well, the O-line is looking very strong, and our passing game is starting to look better as well. Defensively we are improving everytime we get to line up so that is very encouraging. We are running a little different system than the boys played last year so there was a bit of a curve in learning, plus losing last saturday set us a bit behind , but the coaches feel we are getting there pretty quick. So I guess I am just relaying to you that as a whole, our team is looking solid.
Don't forget I need any fundraiser packets that have not been returned yet, to be returned by monday.
We WILL be scrimmaging this saturday in Grafton for sure. Be there by 8:00 a.m.
Aug. 25th is picture night so remember to wear our home game jerseys and pants. We will be given them sometime before tuesday the 25th.
Also don't forget to check the website, all this information is on the home page there as well.
On Aug. 28th it is youth night at the varsity game so we want all our boys there. The players and coaches will get to take a parade lap in front of the crowd to introduce ourselves to the fans and select boys will get to throw T-shirts to the crowd (that is an acticvity we will do at all varsity home games and we will select different boys each week). So I hope we can get a full turnout (the boys get in free if they are wearing there home jersey)
And finally I just want to take a quick minute to thank my coaching staff. without John, Greg, Mike , & Tim our team would not be as strong or as far along as we are. They are talented coaches and are making our first 2 weeks very enjoyable from a coaching standpoint. So if you get a chance just thank them, a lot of hours are being put in off the field by us and I just want them to know we as parents appreciate that. I know I do. So thanks guys.
Til next time see ya'

rainout
Well, unfortunately we didn't get to practice yesterday, so we will be going a little longer each night to maximize our ability to teach the boys the new offense.
I wanted to make sure everyone brings plenty of liquids to stay hydrated.
FULL PADS, contact starts monday.
We will most likely figure out monday who should move up to 8th grade. They would like at least 6 players, more would be better. The boys that we move up are obviously big enough to handle the 8th grade game. We have had some boys talk to the 8th grade coaches already and now we'll see if any of them would be willing to move up. I will then contact those parents. The advantage for the boys is definately playing time, for example, the 8th grade doesn't have enough lineman, those 7th graders who move up would play quite a bit, as opposed to our team where we have 15-17 lineman. So we'll see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
well that's all for now, we'll see all of you tommorrow.

week of 8 - 3 - 09
Hi again. So far so good. The coaches and I are very pleased with our progress. We have installed 4 run plays and 2 pass plays and almost everyone remembers their asignments, very encouraging for week 1. We will be installing a few more plays starting monday and as they keep absorbing the new info we will install more.
We are pleased to have Brad Walsh helping us with our QB's. Brad is the son of coach Walsh on our staff and is a QB on Hartford's JV squad. An added bonus.
We are currently looking for someone willing and or able to videotape our games for us. Anyone interested just let me know.
Also coach Whitemore (6th grade Orange) and I are looking for volunteers to assist us in our marketing ventures. To start with in particular, some help with game day activities since we will be busy coaching our teams to victories. Anyone interested in this or in need of more info just let me know or call me.
I am excited for saturday since we get to begin full contact later in the practice. Always and exciting time.
REMEMBER TO HAVE THE BOYS BEGIN WEARING FULL PRACTICE PADS ON 8-8-09.
Thanks for your support and I will see everyone tommorrow.

New season
I'd like to take this oppotunity to thank everyone for being at our parent picinic. My goal for the parents is to stay as informed as I can keep you throughout the year.
Our 1st practice went well. After discussing everything with the coaches we are excited to get going with the boys and look forward to a great year.
Just a reminder to check here as often as possible. I will update at least once a week.
Don't forget to get to practice as early as possible, we only need helmets, mouthguards, white jerseys and plenty of water, It is supposed to be more humid and in the mid 80's on monday and tuesday.
See you all on monday.
