10-26-09

Here we go again, I am not a computer guy so I forget to update this alot, sorry.

Well the past 2 games have not gone our way. We fought tough all game both weeks, we just were out of place on a few plays defensively this week and didn't get the offense consistant again. I really want these boys to succeed they have worked so hard for us this year and I wish the results were there to show it, but we will fight hard this last game and end on a high note.

I really hope the boys enjoyed this season, I know myself and the rest of the coaches have loved coaching this group. They really were a good group of kids and we will miss them next year. I encourage all of these boys to continue on in football for years to come, don't let losing deter you guys. Don't let playing time at this level fool you, alot of these boys haven't grown into men or the bodies they will have and that can change everything for all of them. The position they are playing now may be the last time they get to play that position so stay positive and love football, 'cuz no one knows what your future holds.

Be sure to check out the "Be an 11" seminar that coach Noennig is presenting. It is a great opportunity to teach the kids how to be a great leader and role model as an athlete. You can find a link to the info on our homepage.

This saturday we travel to cedar grove - belgium. Any questions on directions just e-mail or call or ask me after practice. A guy I work with lives there and I got directions from him today.

Thursday we will be practicing at the town hall, not woodlawn, I will let the kids know tonight. The coaches and I are suprising them with a pizza party in lew of practice, they deserve it for a job well done this year.

That's about it for now see ya tonite.

stay warm

Just a reminder to dress warm, but not too much heavy clothes. With the rain and the dampness the sweatshirts and thick material will hold the cold longer and chill the boys worse, so more layers is better.

Tommorrow night is the varsity homecoming game, I hope to see as many boys as possible there. I have told the boys a few times how proud my coaching staff is of them, regarding their behavior at the varsity games, I feel it is a true testament to their trust in their team, teammates and coaches. Keep up the good work guys.

Anyone that goes to the game should wear their black jersey's. They should also wear them to school during the day.

Hello again

I apologize for the delay in blogging. Well we did it finally, a big win. We stuck to our game plan offensively and pushed them around like we knew we could. Defensively we changed a lot of our scheme and used a 5-3/5-4 and some 6-2 and we really shut them down with the exception of 2 plays, but that can be corrected and will be.

Our player of the game last week was Joe Kahnke, I hate to even think back to that game but maybe it took playing like that for the boys to see we neded to do everything better and they responded. Joe was our leading rusher in that game with 9yds, I was impressed because Joe doesn't get his number called a lot but when it is he's eager and last week we used his size to run him up the middle on some qb sneaks and he got us good yardage in fact some of the only positive yardage all day, a day in which we gained -22 yds (yes negative yds for the day)
So congrat's Joe.

This weeks player of the game was a tough call. Mitch Datka was playing thru a turf toe injury he sustained last week and after not being able to practice all week he ran hard when his # was called and even got his 1st ever TD, also Mark Hermann played as hard as I've seen a lineman at this age play on offense he let us run up the middle a bunch today so I wanted to congradulate him as well, I can't forget John Higgins either he played both ways today and made some outsanding tackles and rushed the ball hard all day long I don't have #'s this week but I'd venture to guess @ 90 yds excellent job Higg's, but our player of the game this week went to Ryan Komp. An outstanding job offensively blocking on the right side for Higg's and defensively he was in their backfield all day long. Good job.

We will probably end practice's by @ 6:30 now since it dark even earlier. If you can be there by 4:30 we will try and start a little early also, if not we'll play that by ear and start at 4:45 at the latest.

We are home again this saturday against WB west so fire up the boys and let's get another win.

See ya ansd again congratulations to all my boys good game, job well done. WE CAN - WE WILL.
