Hello again,
This was not the outcome we expected today, we had had a great week of practice, but you cannot account for turnovers when game planning. We tried this week to get more kids more playing time, with the injuries we've incurred this past week it was a little easier, I hope the boys at least enjoy getting on the field and playing. The losses are discouraging but they are still getting to play football and they should enjoy what they are doing.
we will address the defense this week again and some changes may be looming. Offensively we may have to try and mix things up a little to help protect the backfield, not just our QB, but our entire backfield. that may require player changes but that also means players should be fighting harder for their jobs and playing time.
I wish i would have been able to be there for the entire game, but Kyle required an ambulence ride (not fun) The good news is he is fine, just a bit of a headache. The doctor said years ago they would call this getting your bell rung. he is in good spirits, just bummed he had to miss the rest of the game.
Please let all of your kids know that playing time and starting spots are wide open as of now, in an effort to get better we need all the boys to give it their best, those who want it will stand out. At this point in the season I really want everyone to get as much playing time as possible.
One last note we will start practice at 4:45 and finish at 6:45 for the next few weeks. That time may change again if it keeps getting dark earlier but for now this will be good.
I am very proud of all these boys because no matter the score they are always trying to come back, and that is a great attitude to have. they could be hanging their heads but i always hear positive comments behind me on the sideline, and at this age that is great. I want to get these boys a win as much as they do so we will go back at it monday and work on WB east. Don't forget that game will be played at Hartford, on the JV behind the High School, (the one by our practice fields).
Well that should be enough, remember boys, keep a positive attitude, at home, at school, and at practice.
WE CAN, WE WILL.
